Rhode Island Bioplastics Symposium

The Rhode Island Bioplastics Symposium will bring together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, composting and recycling professionals, students, and community stakeholders to present and discuss the major outcomes of the Rhode Island bioplastics project. The symposium will highlight opportunities and challenges associated with integrating bioplastics into Rhode Island’s waste management infrastructure and circular economy strategies.


IT Community Engagement Workshops
Melva Treviño Peña and Omisha Manglani are running community listening session designed to better understand local experiences, concerns, and priorities related to plastic pollution and environmental quality. Through dialogue, reflection, and collaborative discussion, participants will help shape future community-engaged research and funding opportunities that respond to locally identified needs and interests.
